Last Updated 15/09/2016
Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms, "Terms & Conditions") carefully before making a booking with Vanity Fur Grooming ( "us", "we", "I", "our").
By booking an appointment with Vanity Fur Grooming you automatically agree to be bound by these terms, set out here. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then with regret we will be unable to groom your pet.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these terms at any time.
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us.
Health & Welfare
Whilst your pet is in our care, its health & welfare is our primary concern.
Vanity Fur Grooming grooms humanely and will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress or discomfort & all dogs will be groomed in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Your dog will only ever be groomed according to its tolerance of the process. If your dog is fearful or finds any of the procedures employed too stressful, that part of the grooming process will not be completed or a work around or alternative will be employed. The full starting price for your groom will still be charged, even if the groom is only partially completed.
If your dog has any medical problems, Vanity Fur Grooming asks to be made aware of them (i.e.. seizures, arthritis, heart conditions etc) so that we may take whatever steps needed to keep your pet comfortable. Sometimes grooming can expose or exacerbate a hidden pre-existing condition. Vanity Fur Grooming will always bring anything the groomer may find to the owners attention. We can not diagnose a condition, but may advise the owner seek veterinary attention.
Vanity Fur Grooming are not liable for any pre existing conditions & problems found during the grooming & the owner agrees to pay for all medical treatment incurred due to such.
Grooming sick & elderly dogs will be at the owners risk but we reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog if we consider that it is too unwell to proceed.
If you wish for your dog to be sedated or medicated during the grooming process. Vanity Fur Grooming will only consent to grooming your dog with the understanding that the medication is prescribed by a veterinarian & that their instructions are carried out accordingly. It is also understood that medication is entirely at the owners risk and Vanity Fur Grooming accepts no liability to any problems caused by the sedation process.
MATTED DOG POLICY
At Vanity Fur Grooming, we groom humanely. Removing matts or felting can be very painful & distressing for the dog. As such we will only attempt to de-matt a dog once, & then only in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. De-matting during a groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.
We never de-matt puppies, sick, infirm/elderly, nervous or aggressive dogs.
Unfortunately some dogs do get matted & whilst we offer grooming & styling for most dogs we are not able to work miracles on matted dogs. Therefore we reserve the right to either decline a matted dog for grooming or to offer a humane clip off service only. If you agree to the clip off service the dogs coat will be very short. However if you refuse we will be unable to continue the groom.
In the event of any dog needing the clip off service, the owner should be aware that irratation may occur from the shaving process, as well as resulting in nicks, cuts and other potential problems, caused by the close proximity of the clipping blade to the skin.
The owner agrees that Vanity Fur Grooming will not be held liable for any after grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems uncovered by clipping off a badly matted, neglected coat. This could include, but is not limited to the following:- itchiness, skin redness, irritations or abrasions however caused, post groom furunculosis, pyoderma, superficial or deep and or pyatramatic dermatitis, self inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive external, rubbing, scratching or biting.
Our normal grooming charge does not include de-matting, any de matting or clip offs require significantly more time, labour, product & equipment wear & tear than a routine groom. You agree to pay all costs for the de-matting of the dog whether or not we are able to complete the procedure.
Vanity Fur Grooming reserves the right to refuse to groom any dog that we deem too severely matted to safely carry out a clip off of the coat.
TROUBLED DOG POLICY
If there are any issues with the behaviour of your dog, please advise when booking & we can discuss a suitable grooming plan, which may include the owners assistance.
Dogs showing nervousness, aggressive tendencies & other behavioural issues take special care to groom & therefore take much longer to groom. Respectfully, we reserve the right to charge accordingly.
We will always try our best to work with a dog of this nature, but safety must be paramount. Ultimately if the dog poses such a problem despite our best efforts, that it could result in serious injury to either itself or the groomer, then Vanity Fur Grooming reserves the right to terminate the grooming process & discuss alternative methods with the owner. However the full starting price will still be charged, no matter how little grooming we have managed to complete.
Troubled dogs require understanding & patience & forcing the grooming process on to them will have a detrimental effect on your dogs future behaviour. Vanity Fur Grooming respectfully advises you the owner that we will only work within your dogs limitations & will terminate the grooming process once your dogs tolerance has been reached, even if the groom is only partially completed. The welfare & happiness of your dog is our main priority. If you want your troubled dog looking like a show dog from the first visit, Vanity Fur Grooming are probably not the groomers for you.
Vanity Fur Grooming reserves the right to refuse to groom aggressive or difficult dogs.
Vanity Fur Grooming reserves the right to muzzle your dog or ask you to muzzle your own dog.
The client understands that they will be held liable for all bites/injuries caused by their dog.
Puppies require understanding & patience & forcing the grooming process on to them will have a detrimental effect on your dogs future behaviour. Vanity Fur Grooming respectfully advises you the owner that we will only work within your puppy's limitations & will terminate the grooming process once your puppy's tolerance has been reached, even if the groom is only partially completed. The welfare & happiness of your puppy is our main priority.
Just like house training & obedience, the grooming process needs to be part of your puppy's training regime & it takes just as much time, if not longer to groom a puppy as it does an adult dog, therefore Vanity Fur Grooming does not offer price discounts for puppies.
Your puppy's coat will not develop it's mature adult coat until it is aged 6-12 months sometimes even older. In this time it's coat will change many times, therefore it may take several grooming sessions for the coat to grow to your desired style. If you want your puppy looking like a show dog from the first visit, Vanity Fur Grooming are probably not the groomers for you.
Please note Vanity Fur Grooming will never attempt to de- matt a puppies coat.
Although extremely unlikely accidents can happen during grooming. Our promise to you, is that any incident will be reported to you, the owner, immediately and if necessary we will transport your pet to a vet.
Vanity Fur grooming must be notified within 24 hours if there is a problem. If you believe that your dog has been injured due to the grooming process you must seek veterinary advice within 48 hours. Vanity Fur Grooming will require a full written veterinary report stating the cause of the injury being specific to the grooming process for us to accept any liability or negligence.
Any veterinary bills resulting from a pet being matted, elderly, or from a pre-existing or unforeseeable condition will be the sole responsibility of the owner.
Every effort will be made to groom your dog to meet your expectations. It must be made clear however that no guarantee can be made & Vanity Fur Grooming accepts no responsibility for the groom carried out according to instructions but not to your visual expectations. It may take several grooming sessions for the coat to grow to your desired style.
